2018 Color Trends – How & where to use them!

Color trends are continually changing and surprising me!  From last year’s color of the year, Shadow (2117-30) all the way to this year’s color of the year, Caliente  –  The level of WOW doesn’t seem to be coming down.

If you watch my Instagram stories on our Spruce page, you know that I am a huge fan of Benjamin Moore and the color choices that they put out.  We’ve had the pleasure of using several of 2017’s colors in our projects last year, and have big plans to incorporate this year’s color trends into our many flips and renos on the go!

Here are my top picks for 2018 and how I suggest you use them in your own home!

White Opulence OC-69

White walls is a huge trend right now!  This dreamy white is not a stark white or an off-white, which is perfect when you want to give your home a clean / crisp look.  When using white as your wall color, I always recommend throwing in some accent walls to give the house some “spice!”

Wolf Gray 2127-40

A great medium blue-tone that actually pairs perfect with White Opulence.  Use this as your accent wall color and it will add just the right amount of color and design to your room.

Caliente AF-290

2018’s COLOR OF THE YEAR!  We’re using this bold red as a front door color at a current project.  Curb appeal is everything in today’s real estate market, and adding a fun pop of color is a great way to boost the look of your exterior without breaking the bank.

Stone 2112-40

I’ve had the pleasure of using Stone several times in the past.  It’s a deep gray that goes on the wall as a “true grey” – something hard to find in most grey hues.  This color makes a great accent wall color, door color, or even a living room color (if your room has lots of natural light).

Carolina Gull 2138-40

This has been Brad’s favorite paint color we’ve ever done!  We used this in one of our new construction homes, The Burke, and had SO many compliments on this.  Used in the mud room and master bathroom, this color is light enough that it doesn’t darken a space and bold enough that it makes a statement.  Don’t let the color green scare you, this one is a must try!

Has anyone else given these colors a try?  Send us a comment or photo; we would love to see how these turned out in your space!  Have a question…feel free to send us a message 🙂
