Baby Blair’s Nursery Reveal

Baby can officially come…the car seat is installed, the stroller is ready to rock, and the nursery is finally completed!

Decorating this nursery has been one of the trickier design tasks that I’ve tackled (not knowing the gender of Baby Blair really put a spin on things!), but once I found a gender neutral bedding I fell in love with – the rest of the design seemed to come together seamlessly.  Selecting the  bedding gave me a color pallet to work off of and once I had that established, I went “MINT CRAZY!”

Mint is a very on-trend color right now so finding accents pieces wasn’t a difficult hunt.  I decided to throw in some pops of gold to accent the mint, and kept the rest of the color scheme neutral with soft grays and tans.  Wallpapering with my husband for the first time and being 9 months pregnant while doing it was a real treat 😉  We learned that owning a business together seems to work beautifully for us, but doing home DIY’s together is a totally different story.  After a couple of breaks and a stiff drink (for Brad) we had the wallpaper completed and we’re able to sit back and laugh at what an ordeal it had become.  This was my first time working with wallpaper that is actually a sticker…and I am not sure that I would recommend it to anyone.  Personally, I find the water paste or glue paste wallpaper much easier to work with!

So here it is – my heart and soul poured into this sweet babies room.  Lots of personal touches were incorporated, which is what I LOVE the most.  The paintings hanging above the change table were done by my amazing father, Kurt Schultz.  The framed letter on the white shelf is a page ripped out of my prayer journal, as I spend each morning praying for our little one <3 The quote hanging above the crib, “I love you a bushel & a peck” is a saying that my grandmother said to my brother and I each time she kissed us goodbye.  Although she is no longer around to meet Baby Blair – I know that she would have been “smitten” over him or her.

Listed at the bottom of this blog post are links to where I found almost all of the decor for the nursery.  I put myself on a budget for this nursery remodel so I sourced a lot of different businesses both local and online!
