It’s hard to believe we’re moved-in and officially sleeping in our new pad, The Ice Princess. It feels almost surreal that we moved into this home and designed it to be our own, but it is nothing less than amazing to be in a house that you love inside and out!
Rae’s nursery was definitely one of the more challenging rooms for me to decorate. Her nursery in our previous home was larger, thus allowing furniture placement to have more options. One thing I wanted to keep in mind when designing this space was that Brad and I plan to have another baby (not now but one day lol!) and wanted this room to remain the nursery once new baby arrived. This left me with the challenge of making it feel feminine enough for a little girl, but transitional enough that if our next child was a boy, I would only have to make a few simple decor swaps to accommodate.
I’ve been itching to do a detailed trim wall and thought that this room could use some pizzazz! I had our guys mill pieces of 3 inch MDF to create this square panelling feature wall, and accented it with a gold mirror and flower wall swag to give it a more girly look.
Shopping for design pieces for this space was so much fun…the thought of making a room cute and cozy for our sweet girl made every minute of scowering the city and internet for unique finds worth it. I’ve linked all of my favorites below for you to shop as well!
