22 Nov 2019 Color Trends
I get SO excited when the new year’s color trends get released because it instantly gets my mind moving a million miles a minute as to which colors I want to try out this year. This year’s pallet is surprisingly subtle, but still packs a punch! Take a look at what we plan to use in upcoming projects and some of our “old faithful” that made the list…
2019 Color of the Year – Metropolitan AF-690 – A beautiful gray that can make any room feel calming. If you’re looking for a great neutral that isn’t too gray nor too brown, this one should defiantly be a contender!
Black Pepper 2130-40 – This subtle blue/gray has me really excited about its possibilities. I picture this on a front door, used as a beautiful exterior paint color, or even as an accent wall in the master bedroom. If you’re using an overall gray color as your main wall color, Black Pepper would be an excellent choice to accent it.
Head over Heels AF-250 – Don’t let this soft pink scare you off! If you’re someone who loves gold accents…contemplate bringing this color into your home! This color would make a beautiful accent color in your office or guest bedroom, would be gorgeous painted on furniture, or could create a spa-like feeling in your bathroom. Because this pink is so subtle it can be incorporated into many color schemes!
Hunter Green 2041-10 – Bold and fearless! This color will defiantly make a statement in any space. Currently trending right now is using hunter green on your cabinetry. Thinking of re-doing your kitchen? Hunter Green could be the perfect cabinetry color. Want to tone it down a tad? Use Hunter Green on your kitchen’s lower cabinets and pair it with a soft white like Simply White for your uppers 🙂
Our “old faithful” that made this year Color Trends list:
Kendal Charcoal HC-166 – I can’t even begin to recall how many projects I have used this color in. Whether it was on doors, accent walls or most recently – a ceiling….this color has never let us down! The perfect “true gray” to incorporate into your home. What I love about this one is that it doesn’t pull blue tones and acts as a rich “grounding color” in a large space. To see this color in action, check out our albums: Bare Bones and Ice Princess.
Hale Navy HC-154 – Hands down my favorite color at the moment, this rich blue is the perfect complimenting color if you want to make a statement in a room. We’ve all seen how popular navy have been over the past few years and I don’t see this trend going away anytime soon. If you’re looking for a rich color…don’t pass this one up! To see this color in action, check out our album: Ice Princess.
A special thank you to Benjamin Moore – Eastside Wallpaper and Paint for scoring me a 2019 Color Trends Book before they hit the shelves. At Spruce Homes, we’re committed to using Benjamin Moore paint because we believe it is the highest quality paint on the market. Paint is not something you want to cheap-out on in your home, and Benjamin Moore continues to represent the paint industry with integrity and durability, and in our opinion…provides the best paint colors on the market 🙂
