The Modern Cabin

The Modern Cabin

Good afternoon and Happy Wednesday, I hope everyone’s kiddos had a great first day back to school!  Fall is in the air, and now seemed like the perfect time to do the full blog reveal on our most recent custom build! I never “named” this one per- say, but if you follow along with us on Instagram you would recognize this house as, “Romeo’s Custom Build.”

First off, let me tell you about our client Romeo…because he is pretty much the coolest! Romeo was ready for more space and to get out of his dark condo – PLUS, he bought a dog (which makes anyone ready for the move to a house with a yard!) Romeo gave me about 5 Pinterest photos he liked as inspiration and let me put together a design for him – How cool is that?!?! We wanted this house to be masculine, but cozy at the same time. He loved the idea of a wood stained ceiling with beams, and HOLY COW did it turn out amazing! We did a combo of wood and black cabinetry throughout from our friends at Superior Cabinets. One of the cool features we added were the hidden doggie food and water dish in the toe kick of his mudroom armoire. We also did a floating shelf in his master ensuite vanity for rolled up towels, and a super cool BAR area for when he entertains.

All in all, this house turned out to be one of our absolute favorites to work on! The colors, style, and vibe throughout the house are a unique reflection of Romeo’s personality and we LOVE that!

A list of some of the most common questions we’ve gotten on this house in terms of the design are listed at the bottom of this blog post!
