For those of you who have been following along on our social media…we took on a really unique renovation in a city right outside of YXE called, Warman. Long story short…we had planned to do a total gut and custom reno on a house for new clients of ours, but when the real estate market didn’t end up agreeing with their timing of selling their current home, plans changed and we renovated their existing home instead 🙂
With a new baby on the way, it was time to move two of the little ones into a shared room and create some necessary storage to help the house better function! Our client’s put so much trust in us to bring their vision to life and seeing the look on their little one’s faces when they walked in said it all <3
While we waited for our new mudroom cabinetry to arrive we got started on freshening up the decor in the house. Adding some color to the living room and dining room really made all the difference in lightening the spaces up! Simple touches like a new area rug, pillow, curtains, and family photos created a cozy space for our client’s to spend family time. Wall color – Flint (Benjamin Moore)
The girl’s room was my absolute favorite transformation! Ian did an AMAZING job bringing my vision of these multi-functional bunkbeds to life. He has an unreal knack for custom furniture making and continues to amaze us with his carpentry skills each day.
The bunk beds needed to have several functions for our clients:
- Twin mattress on top for their youngest daughter
- A double mattress on the bottom for their oldest daughter
- Built-in dresser and drawers for storage
- A “captains bed” that pulled out on wheels from beneath the lower bed for mom and dad to lay on and read stories to the girls
- Enclosed side stairs to prevent any falling incidents
We added a floral wallpaper on the accent wall from the Magnolia Homes Line (sourced from Eastside Wallpaper & Paint), purchased some neutral bedspreads from Home Outfitters, and installed new wall-mounted reading/ceiling lights from Ikea. The girls love dress up, diamonds, and everything “girlie” so we really wanted to create a space suited for two princesses!
Their playroom was in need of some organization and structure to help make it easier for cleanup. We created “station play” areas complete with a reading nook, kitchen area, craft table, and more…We labeled wall mounted storage bins to keep toys separated and to minimize clutter!
Next, we converted one side of the garage into a mudroom – still allowing for a vehicle to be pulled in, but adding a RIDICULOUS amount of storage and the perfect “drop zone” for kids jackets and boots. By adding the rubberized tile flooring, it eliminated having to walk in your socks on the dirty concrete and gave a softer feel for the kiddos on their toes 🙂
We are over the moon thankful for the opportunity to take on this unique project for a growing family. Courtney & Bobbie – Congratulations on your newest addition…she is perfect 🙂
